Fun, color-coordinated accessories lift a small collection of
botanicals to impressive heights.
Design by Christina M. Burton, AIFD
Three beautiful
butterflies, attached to decorative wire, appear to be
fluttering around and upon a small group of ruffly carnations.
Their positioning adds visual dimension to the floral cluster,
increasing its perceived value while maintaining a
budget-friendly price.
Create this dynamic and affordable arrangement in an
array of color palettes to suit the season, customer preference
and the carnations you have on hand. Containers and decorative
wire in a rainbow of colors make almost any color combination
possible.
MATERIALS:
‘Moonlite’ carnations from Florigene Flowers; Galax
leaves from favorite supplier; 8-inch Spirit™ Collection Saucer,
Oasis® Floral Foam and Oasis® Hot-Melt Glue from Oasis® Floral
Products; hand-painted feather butterflies from Floraltrims;
Deco Wire™ from Lion Ribbon Company.
HOW TO:
 |
 |
 |
|
Saturate the floral foam,
and place it into a saucer. Arrange Galax leaves
around the perimeter of the floral foam. |
Remove the delicate
packing wire from each butterfly, and insert decorative
wire in its place, securing it with a drop of hot glue
at the end of the wire. |
Form the opposite end of each wire into a small hook
(for stability), then insert the wires into the floral
foam. |
