           Tips for creating single-, triple- and multiple-stemmed
                                assemblages in glass vessels.

                                                           single-flower bud vase

                                                                                                         In a slender bud vase, a rose joins with baby’s
                                                                                                     breath and greenery to create a full and profes-
                                                                                                     sional-looking arrangement. A multiloop bow
                                                                                                     embellishes the design. (See "Workbench Basics" in
                                                                                                     our January 2016 issue for bow-making instructions.)

                                                                                                                                          MATERIALS: Rose, Gypsophila, lily grass, leatherleaf fern,
                                                                                                                                          Ruscus and plumosa fern from favorite suppliers; Clear
                                                                                                                                          Glass Vase from burton + BURTON; Sheer Glitz ribbon

                                        bud vase, then place a stem of plumosa
                                        fern in front of the leatherleaf. This
                                        begins to create a support that will help
                                        keep the rose upright and stable in the
                                        vase. Cut the rose stem to the desired
                                        length, and place it into the vase, in front
                                        of the foliages. Add other foliages, ac-
                                        cent flowers and a bow to complete the
                                        design and further stabilize the rose.
