Proflora:
A biennial
showcase
Growers, suppliers and buyers celebrated an abundance of
floral products in Cartagena.

Visitors representing 46 countries converged on
Cartagena, Colombia, in early October for Proflora 2007,
sponsored by Asocolflores, the Colombian Association of Flower
Exporters.
Cristina Uricoechea, director of Proflora, says 4,200 people, including
850 flower buyers, were in attendance. The number of exhibiting
companies increased 55 percent from Proflora 2005, to 287.
Among highlights of Proflora 2007 was the Technical Contest, in which
France’s Delbard Pépinières won first place overall in the
breeder category for its ‘Iguana’ rose and Multiflora, of South
Africa, won first place overall in the grower category for its
chrysanthemum ‘Resouci’.
