florists poised for wedding season growth
Good news is on the way for florists whose wedding sales have dwindled over the past few years. Recovering disposable incomes are encouraging consumers to boost their spending on wedding festivities, which they held back on during the recession, and the floral industry is among the top three industries expected to bloom.
As the economy recovers, the floral industry is expected to rise an average of 2.1 percent annually to $9 billion over the next five years, according to a recent report from IBISWorld. On average, about 10 percent of florists’ revenue is derived from weddings.
