Although plans were in the works for Amsterdam’s International Horti Fair 2013, a Dutch floral and technology exhibition, to be held in conjunction with the FloraHolland Trade Fair in Aalsmeer, Horti Fair organizers recently announced that the 2013 event will not take place at all.

In a recent press release, show organizers explained the decision: “While developing the plans, Horti Fair found there were too many financial and operational objections, making a successful organization of the Horti Fair in 2013 together with the FloraHolland Trade Fair in Aalsmeer impossible to realize.”

While the press release hints that organizers are continuing to work toward future Horti Fair events, no specific details are given.

However, Chris Beytes, who writes Grower Talks’  “Acres Online” newsletter, suggests that Horti Fair may remain in Amsterdam and be reconfigured as a floriculture technology show that would take place at the same time as FloraHolland and the International Floriculture Trade Fair, which is also in Aalsmeer.
