Among the most notable changes is the length of the trade show, which will be two days rather than three. However, by consolidating educational sessions into one day, total exhibit hours remain essentially the same.
Dan Johnson, of The Kroger Company, who serves as chairman of the Fresh Summit Committee, announced in an email release that “The total floor experience is reduced only by 1 1/2 hours, so [buyers] will still have plenty of opportunities to connect with more than 800 exhibitors.”
In addition, organizers announced a new booth assignment system that is based on accumulated “points” that the exhibiting companies acquire during the year. This system is set up to reward loyal exhibitors and PMA members and recognizes participation with PMA and the PMA Foundation for Industry Talent (PMAFIT).
The 2012 Fresh Summit International Convention & Exposition is scheduled for October 26-28 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif.
