PMA, UNITED FRESH END MERGER TALKS
Merger talks between the Produce Marketing Association (PMA) and the United Fresh Produce Association broke down in July. The talks had been going on since February 2011.
Mike O’Brien, vice president of produce at Schnucks and co-chair of the joint task force leading the discussions, said in a press release, “I acknowledge with profound disappointment that despite our best efforts, we were unable to agree on an acceptable joint association model that would meet both member and industry needs.”
