Renwick Wachenfeld, a designer and floral design instructor in West Hollywood, Calif., received the coveted title of 2012 “Iron Designer” at the International Floriculture Expo in June in Miami.
Mr. Wachenfeld and his six competitors were asked to create a design that embodied the theme “Romantic Love” in 20 minutes, with the winner chosen by a team of AIFD-certified designers.
The competitors worked their floral magic during an Expo “Happy Hour” as audience members sipped complimentary drinks and enjoyed the commentary provided by masters of ceremony Pieter Landman and two-time past winner Jacob McCall, AIFD, FSMD.
