Mr. Wachenfeld and his six competitors were asked to create a design that embodied the theme “Romantic Love” in 20 minutes, with the winner chosen by a team of AIFD-certified designers. The competitors worked their floral magic during an Expo “Happy Hour” as audience members sipped complimentary drinks and enjoyed the commentary provided by masters of ceremony Pieter Landman and two-time past winner Jacob McCall, AIFD, FSMD. The other designers were: Patricia Corbin Mark Frank Robert DeBellis, AIFD, PFCI Angela Stembridge Lori Trotter Flowers were supplied by Ball SB; containers were supplied by Pots Company/Giftwares Co.; greenery was supplied by The Sun Valley Group; and floral foam was supplied by Floralife.
